Synopsis:


The Master of Suspense presents a series of spine-tingling short stories rife with twists and turns.



Disc 1:


Wet Saturday - When Millicent Princey murders her school's headmaster with a croquet mallet, her family sets out to quickly clean up any evidence of foul play.


Fog Closing In - A young wife suffering from a dark recurring nightmare finds her worst fears coming true when she is home alone one night.


De Mortuis - Two friends find their buddy filling a six-foot hole in his basement and begin to suspect that there is something foul afoot.


Kill with Kindness - A brother and sister's devious plan to collect on an insurance policy by burning down their house goes hysterically awry when the duo's lackluster timing makes them heroes instead of profiteers.


None Are So Blind - Thinking he's planned the perfect murder, Seymour Johnstone creates a false identity in order to kill his aunt and take her money.


Toby - When a newspaper ad reconnects lonely Al Birch with his sweetheart Edwina, the man is over the moon about seeing the lady - until she shows up with a strange aversion to light and a mysterious child named Toby.


Alibi Me - An old childhood rivalry leads to a murder, and Georgie is left in desperate need of a person to back up his alibi.


Conversation Over a Corpse - The Enright sisters serve their tea and cookies with a little something extra when the man who bought the option on the pair's house comes to call.

Mr. Blanchard's Secret - A curious mystery writer with an overactive imagination can't help but meddle in the lives of her new next-door neighbors - especially when one of them begins to display some highly unusual behavior.


John Brown's Body - John Brown's wife and her lover are literally driving John insane, but when the pair concocts a plan to pull both John and his money out of a mental institution, Mr. Brown comes up with a few plans of his own.


Crackpot - A honeymoon turns horrifying when a newly married couple has car problems - and a deranged man offers his help.


Nightmare in 4-D - A beautiful neighbor wreaks havoc on the life of the older man living upstairs when she asks him for a little favor: help disposing of a dead body.

My Brother, Richard - Backroom politics prove deadly when a gubernatorial candidate finds that his brother has decided to eliminate the competition.


The Manacled - A police sergeant and his prisoner find themselves at an interesting crossroads when the wanted man attempts to bargain for his freedom while aboard a speeding train.


A Bottle of Wine - Architect Wally Donaldson agrees to have some wine with the jealous ex-husband of his new sweetheart, Grace.


Malice Domestic - A group of country club pals attempts to help out a friend when it appears that his wife may be trying to poison him.


Number Twenty-Two - When he is arrested after a minor robbery, a young man becomes fascinated with the lineup process - but his fascination fades when he discovers what might be the eventual consequences of his crime.


The End of Indian Summer - A life insurance investigation takes a very unusual turn when a "black widow" with two previous marriages to speak of takes on a third husband with a mysterious past of his own.


One for the Road - A devoted wife takes action when she discovers that her husband is involved with another woman.


The Cream of the Jest - A desperate actor attempts to revive his career by blackmailing a theater producer with a new show in the works.



Disc 4:


I Killed the Count (1) - The murder of Count Victor Mattoni leads Inspector Davidson and Detective Raines on a wild journey fraught with hidden identities and false alibis - that reveals two potential killers.


I Killed the Count (2) - As the investigative team puts together the clues for each possible murder scenario, an elevator operator appears on the scene to make a startling confession.


I Killed the Count (3) - When the three potential killers are brought to Scotland Yard for further questioning, their surprise at seeing one another leads to even more confessions - and a verdict that blows everyone away.


One More Mile to Go - It's a race against time for Sam Jacoby, who must dispose of the body in his car's trunk before it is discovered by the overly friendly cop who keeps pulling him over because of a faulty light.

A Man Greatly Beloved - A precocious nine-year-old takes on the new town recluse with the help of a local medium and an intriguing investigation into the strange man's past.


Martha Mason, Movie Star - Celebrity worship goes too far when actress Martha Mason's biggest fan, Mabel McKay, decides to eliminate her husband, Mr. McKay, for making jokes about her passion for the Hollywood star.


The West Warlock Time Capsule - A bit of creative taxidermy and a time capsule provide Mr. George Tiffany the perfect opportunity to get rid of his pesky brother-in-law.


Father and Son - When Sam Saunders discovers that his elderly father is harboring a fugitive, he opts to use the information for his own financial gain.


The Indestructible Mr. Weems - The elderly Mr. Weems seems to have very little time left, so his lodge brothers decide to pay the old man a weekly fee if he will be the first to purchase a lot in their new cemetery and begin a trend in reserving final resting places.


A Little Sleep - A wild young woman ends up in over her head when she travels to a remote mountain cabin and finds herself flirting with a killer.


The Dangerous People - When a dangerous criminal escapes from an insane asylum, two fellows at a train station each begin to suspect that the other may be the wanted man.
